Please tell us a little about your business, yourself and how you got to where you are now in the wellness industry…

Driven by a holistic approach which incorporates beauty, health and wellness, Depths of Beauty aims to empower people to confidently and comfortably make the transition to eco-beauty by embracing all natural, organic, ethical and cruelty-free products and practices.

My beauty career began in mainstream makeup artistry but as my knowledge and passion for overall health, wellbeing and using natural products increased - I started to feel a disconnect between my career and passions. Contributing to the consumption of toxic, mainstream products began to feel downright dirty and the deeper I dug into the beauty industry, the more conscious I became of my choices. My own personal transition to natural beauty that actually performed amazingly was the first step and I instantly knew that I was onto a good thing that needed to be shared! As I began to spread the word, first to friends and family and then slowly into my own work, I began realising that I had an opportunity to educate and help make a positive impact on people, animals and the environment… and so Depths of Beauty was born.

What does ‘living naturally’ mean to you?

Living naturally means exactly that - choosing to nourish my body mind and soul with ingredients and practises that are as close to their natural state as possible, whether it’s wholefoods, organic beauty ingredients or spending time at the beach. Nature knows best after all...

What does a typical day in the wellness world look like for you?

My days vary – a lot! As a freelancer, I often work from home in my studio/office on my website, testing, trialling and reviewing natural beauty products and keeping on top of emails to clients, brands and online stores. Makeup Artistry also takes me all over Sydney for editorial photo shoots and events, from studio’s in Alexandria to location shoots on the beach in Northern Beaches, to Sydney Olympic Park. My days also involve meetings with like-minded businesses and I often pop into some of my favourite natural brands offices to say hello! Aside from work, I ALWAYS find time in my day for exercise and a swim in the ocean or bake on the beach (in summer)!

What are your top 3 tips for staying fit and healthy?

Have a good morning routine. All the most successful people in the world have a morning routine and there’s no better feeling than starting your day by moving and nourishing your body
“Me time”. In this busy busy world it is SO important to take time for you to recharge, reflect and re-energise so that you are in the best position to keep doing your best.
Get out in nature. There is rarely a day I don’t walk along the beach or go for an ocean swim because it is honestly the best nourishment you can give your mind, body and soul.

In a nutshell, what’s your food philosophy?

My food philosophy is to eat food that is as close to its natural state as possible, organic and sustainably sourced where possible. I love cooking and experimenting with the ways I nourish my body and I strongly believe in listening to your body and trusting what works best for you.

What do you do to ‘reset’ the balance button when life gets a bit hectic?

I absolutely love creating rituals to make some time for me each day. I love to start the day with meditation and visualisation - it's so important to keep me clear and focused. I also rarely let a day slip by without moving my body in some shape or form - exercise is not only incredibly energising but also really therapeutic. A good run or F45 session is the perfect way to release stress and get pumped up for all the amazing things I'm creating.

We’re all about balance around here.. whats your biggest indulgence?

I’m all about balance too! Food wise, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, I’m more of a salt fan, sweet potato chips (or just hot chips with gravy) is a big indulgence.. but totally worth it occasionally ;)

What healthy snacks might we find on your desk or in your handbag?

My favourite snack at the moment are the amazing Star Anise activated nuts, particularly the macadamias! They are incredible and definitely get me through busy days in the office. I also love snacking on dried shredded coconut! Yum!

Can you share with us your top two pieces of advice for people wanting to start a career in the wellness industry?

My top pieces of advice are, be genuine - don’t try and be anyone else but yourself! Be authentic with your mission, messaging and life! Follow your passions and do your work from a place of love and a desire to make a positive change.. the rest will naturally flow.

Do you have a favourite affirmation or quote you remind yourself of when life throws you a few challenges?

“Act as if what you do makes a difference – it does” – William Blake, I have this quote stuck to my fridge to remind myself every day!

What are your goals and aspirations for the coming year?

To continue inspiring others to be the best version of themselves by nourishing their bodies from within and without! There are lots of plans over the coming year, including the release of my ebook “Recipes for Radiance”, live events and masterclasses, more Natural Beauty Youtube Vids and Tutorials and an online programme to help women switch to natural beauty.. and more. ;)

Thanks so much, Beauty!
